Des Moines, Iowa houses a small bar called El Bait Shop. It looks like the atmosphere is about a D+, but the beer selection and beer rarity (100 Draughts and FREE homebrew) are unparalleled in the midwest. There will be a pilgrimage, and I will drag my PNW friends there if I have to.
MBC still gets credit for being a true (and wonderful) brewpub at the border of the great plains, but:
